I know nothing about audio quality but I do know what I like. :D

I had a pair of sennheisers in-ear which were excellent then they broke so went to a pair of gaming head phones and OMG all I can say the difference was dramatic (in a bad way).

So I need a new pair of in-ear or headphones for around 100E to listen to music.

I primarily listen to Metallica, Muse, Eminem, Rap, Dance, a little electronic.

    Thanks

    TK.

    I've a pair of these

and they're brilliant. Mine have survived going through the washing machine (replaced the filter), split casing (superglue them back together) and a jack replacement at my hands and still sound great. They were 99 dollars when I bought them but they've been genuinely reduced to 79. I've had mine for over a year and I normally break them far before that.

You get several different sized eartips, a clip to stop the cables rubbing off your clothes (microphonics), replacement filters and a small extension lead. They're not earbuds but In Ear Monitors (IEMs) so they produce a seal in your ear and block sound coming in or out of your ear. It's not a total seal but is enough to block out conversations.

I llisten to prodigy, fleet foxes, chemical brothers, wilco, foo fighters, wu tang, marvin gaye and they all sound great. It really opens up your music and you start hearing new parts of songs that you were familiar with. I use it with my ipod or laptop so it doesn't need anything extra, just high bitrate music.

Worse parts are the long delivery times (I think it was 2 to 3 weeks from China) and the microphonics is pretty bad if you move around a lot listening to them it might take some adjusting the route of the cable on your person but the clip provided definitely helps. I'd definitely recommend them. Hope this helps.

    Here's some reviews of them:
