Running feature on BBC News channel

I don't know if any of you watch the BBC News channel but they've had a feature on today about a place called Iten in Kenya and long distance running. The feature doesn't last very long, I'd say maybe 5 minutes at most but it's interesting.

Unfortunately I don't know what time it's on at, but I've seen it twice already today so I'd say if you kept the TV on in the background you might catch it.

Haven't seen that one myself yet, but I'd expect them to be repeating any short segments they have tomorrow again and then next weekend as they struggle to fill the days of little news.

Will keep an eye out as I usually have the news on in the background whilst doing something more interesting.

I've heard of that Irish dude before in another program I think.

Iten is one of the running Meccas of the world and the village itself has largely contributed to the dominance. Based in the Rift Valley it is at 8000ft altitude and people from all over the world travel there to train. One notable person who trained here was ironically the last man to win a long distance Olympic gold medal, Deiter Baumann in the 5000m in 1992
