just kept me up half the night i think its the last rad on the circuit

mains water still frozen (at kitchen tap)

    pressurised system with oil boiler

    pressure on guage 1.5 bar

no obvious leaks anywhere (i.e.boiler house dry - all rads dry no hot water leaks)

    any ideas

Bleed the radiator, let the air out.
Install an automatic bleeding valve (for around € 6.-).
    Top-up the pressure.

Its unlikely to be a leak at present, because you have still got adequate pressure. How old is the system?

about 10 years (had the pressure vessel replaced about 4 years ago and replace old boiler)

mains water still dead so wont touch till that comes back, also not running the boiler now either
