Any tips for stopping a rip spread in jeans?

    I've just got a small verticle rip on the knee in a pair of jeans. Is there any way to stop this rip from spreading (i.e. something akin to nail varnish on tights) or do I just have to accept the inevitable and venture out to buy a new pair of jeans?

    ....Sew it up? If you just sew it when its inside out you'll never see it when you turn it around again. :)

    Would you not like see a line or a pucker where it had been sewn? :confused: I have a pair of jeans with a rip too but I thought if I tried that, it'd be noticeable.

    There'll be a little line, just do the stitches really tiny and don't pull the stitches too tight :)

    I thought about that initially, but will it stop the denim from ripping vertically, especially as it's on the knee, and so getting a lot of hardship?
