Filipina tourist visa for Ireland

    Hi all

Hope im posting in the right place.....

I have a longterm online friend thats want to visit europe for 1 week.
She wants to visit Spain and/or Ireland and needs to apply for the relevant visa. I know its easier to obtain a visa if invited from a european citizen but she can only apply for a tourist visa.

The problem is that before applying for the visa she needs to have flights and hotels confirmed (which means paying a deposit/cancelation fees) and will lose this if she doesnt secure the visa as she doesnt know anyone living in Spain.

She is self employed and has a young child that wont be traveling with her so she has reason to return home. She has no intentions of staying longer than 10 days.

    So my question is:

Does anyone know what chance she has of getting visa?
From searching online it seems its more difficult for Filipinas to obtain visa.

She is also studying nursing and maybe in the future will consider applying for work in Europe.
Anyone know what her chances are?

    Thanks in advance

it really all depend on her means and if she has money in the bank and has property back in her home country

I agree with Gustafo . The amount of salary and money in the bank is up for debate but 400 euro and perhaps 5k in the bank if she is supporting family that helps too. You need to show detailed proof birth certs ,bank accounts etc.
The bottom line for INIS is proof to return home.

Thread is almost 4 years old, the OP hasn't posted anything on boards since Christmas day 2010! I imagine his pen pal online 'friend' has either given up or already had her holiday in Europe.

No need to resurrect auld threads.

I'd be fairly confident though that The Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service would have dealt with this situation sometime already since this thread was first opened in 2010.

    Thanks,
