Cant get nat type 1

    I recently switched to eircom broadband and even though ive had it before and had no problem changing my nat type to 1 now i cant seem to get it at all. Ive watched two videos, followed all directions and everytime I test the connection it says obtaining the ip address timed out. I was also on the phone to an eircom technical supporter and he said with the new modem it might be different. Now i cant find any pictures of the modem but its like the old silver one but black and a little bit chunkier. Anyone have any ideas what to do?
