Have just recieved my Hennessy Hammock in the post this week and was wondering if any of ye good people have one. Having moved from tents to a Rab ridge raider bivvy bag over the last few years, i have decided these hammocks are the way forward for me. So if anyone has any experience with one i'd be insterested in their thoughts on them. I've read all the on-line reviews etc, so i know the story in that regard but advise from anyone who has used one in Ireland in winter would be ideal. I plan to Christen it mid-January in Slieve Bloom mountains.

    Hi,

I'm afraid I can't help out a whole lot but I do have a strong interest in these hammocks.

I was often on the verge of getting one myself but always decided against it, mainly because I just don't get out as much as I'd like to and I didn't want to spend money on something that would sit on a shelf for most of the year.

Best of luck with it! A lovely place to give it its first outing too.
    R.

    Hi R,
I respect your point of view but these hammocks are not too expensive considering the workmanship that goes into making them. I've strong mine up in the back garden this week, so far its very impressive.

I dont have a hennessey but i have a tenth wonder jungle hornet hammock i bought a couple of years ago and since then i havent bothered with tents, there is nothing more comfortable than sleeping in the hammock and its real nice to get up off the ground it has so many advantages. I did the IPNA course in jan/feb this year and the lads down their liked the hammock but thought i was crazy at first when i was putting it up until they tried it out. you wont be upset with your purchase lad the Hennessey is the ferrarri of camping hammocks great buy.

I plan on spending alot of time in my hammock once the snow clears

That Hornet hammock has some nice features, i like the extra head height and it looks like it works well on the ground if needs be. Your right about the advantages of hammocking, they speak for themself.
