Disk Space

I am getting a message on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400) that I am running low on disk space on OS C, it tells me to free up disk space & I have deleted what i no longer need, don't have music downloaded, and am still getting it. I wanted to down load some podcasts for my MP3 player for the xmas, but it won't let me do this as there is not enough space.

Has any one any suggestions how to make more space, or am i missing something altogether.

    Run disk cleanup,
    Disk defragmentation,
    run a virus scan,
    check for malware (using malwaremalbytes)

Thanks a million for that list, I had done a clean up, with no improvement, I will do a defrag now & see how it goes. Had never heard of malware so will give it a shot too. Thanks again.

I have this problem also on a friends laptop.
My mistake was making a 30GB Partition on a Vista Installed HD.
Then installing a New Vista on The 30GB Partition.
Is there anyways i can copy all the content on the 30GB Partition to a bigger partition, like all the files, installs, game installs and vista itself?
    Thanks.

Your best bet is to get a removable hard drive, back up all your important stuff and reinstall your Operating System

I think I may have to do this, had the defragmenting running while I was out yesterday, from 2-6 and it wasn't finished, did the malware also & virus run but no joy. Looking at the properties can see where its full alright. Thanks for your help.
