Anyone been keeping track of this guy lately? Looks like he's in for quite a year, made the BBC Sounds of 2011 list, runner-up in the Critics Choice (Brits Awards) and Zane Lowe made his cover of Feist's 'Limit To Your Love' his 'Hottest Record In The World Right Now'.

Enjoying his album so far. Interesting production, some songs (Lindefarne I and II, I'm looking at you) sorta call to mind a minimal, dubsteppy Bon Iver. Highlight so far would be 'I Never Learnt To Share' if only for the exhilarating swelling crescendo that bottoms out into a quaking, stolid bass figure.

Just gave this guy a few listens on the old youtube... He's definitey capturing. Kind of a cross between Bon Iver and Four Tet. I like it though. Cheers!

Without a doubt, the artist I'm most excited about in the world right now. Three EPs plus a couple of singles in the last 18 months and each has been better than the last. The album is going to be epic.

i'm wondering if any of you guys know where i could pick up some of James Blake's stuff on vinyl? on the HMV website i can pick up CMYK for about £6, but i was wondering if any of the record shops in dublin would have that kind of thing?

I'm surprised there isn't more love for this guy. I'm completely in love with his album and EP's. He's a really fantastic artist.

This is one of my favourite tracks by him, just fantastic overall, especially the shift at the end. Kicking myself that I didn't go to see him live.

Although I like him and most of what he has released to date I thought the Whelan's gig was fairly un inspiring.

Love the EP's ... but the album has yet to win me over in full, I find it does not have much dynamic shifts in sound like the EP's.

If you like his echo effected sound you should check out the work of Arthur Russell ,, who as well as being an experimental cellist was one of the first guys to remix disco tracks ,,with lots of DUB ECHO effects.
