It was the price of shipping that has stopped me using them as much in the past. A great resource for out of print or rare books too!

    Thanks!

I buy books but hadn't heard of this site.
For curiosity, I checked out the prices of two very popular books at the moment.

Room by Emma Donoghue $23 @ betterworld; €7.26 @ bookdepository
One Day by David Nicholls $12 @ betterworld €4.74 @ bookdepository
    Free delivery from both.

Maybe it is good for rare books.
It is good to have another resource to check out though.
    Thanks OP.

Thanks OP, didn't know about the free postage

I've used them in the past for a second hand book which I couldn't find on ebay, amazon or the book depository

But for new books especially college textbooks I find the bookdepository cheaper most of the time

also every few weeks/months they give a 10% discount code on the facebook page, so if you're in no hurry with the books, hold off ordering til you get the code

Just had a look there and although the money goes to a good cause it looks a bit pricey to me. Maybe as other posters have mentioned it might be good for rare books. Good to know its there and has free delivery though :)

I often mention www.awesomebooks.com because they have saved me literally hundreds on text books for college. I have gotten loads of text books for £1.99 and its free shipping for 2 or more books. Otherwise its Amazon or the book depository.

I used to use betterworldbooks a few years back, they were really good. They had cheap books in excellent condition, good coupons, $3-$4 shipping per book and the euro was stronger.
Just had a look there now, books that were $3.98 are now priced $7.98 including shipping. They are no longer a bargain.

Nowadays I use the comparison site www.bookfinder.com which encompasses most websites and calculates postage in the price.
