    Hi,

I have Symantec Endpoint protection installed on my laptop and it is showing up nothing suspicious.

However over the past few days - I'm having problems viewing a number of webpages. It's usally that the graphics are out of sync or the pictures do not display properly. Facebook in particular is acting up. (Browser is Internet8).

As i said nothing shows up in the endpoint protection search.

I have read the other posts here and tried some of the steps such as trying to install a anti-malware program.
I have also tried to install Firefox as opposed to I8.

Unfortunately this is where it gets problematic though as I am unable to install any programs.
I keep getting the "unknown publisher" message when I try to run the programs straight off.
Then if I try to save and run the programs, I am told that the files are corrupt.
Have also tried running from a memory key, programs downloaded from a different pc.

Really feel like I'm banging my head off the wall here.

Should end point protection not automatically pick up anything dodgy.
If it cant - how can I insatall a program that can with the problems that I'm having above?

    (OS is Win7 HP64 btw)

Sorry for rambling - but I have no idea what to do here?

    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

Can you disable/uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection for a while to see if it makes a difference? It could feasibly be screwing with downloads and opening files although it's odd that it would only have started recently.

If you can't install anything and you suspect that the problem may be virus-related, scan the computer first using a Rescue CD like BitDefender. Burn the ISO file to a CD, boot from the CD and then allow the program to update and scan.

    Thanks.
I booted from BitDefender as you said and it found a Trogan (amazon.exe).
Things are back to normal now. Thanks again - very much appreciated!
