Are roads gritted Christmas Eve & Christmas Day?

    As in the title, are the gritters out (as usual or partial service) over Christmas? In particular the N18/N17, thanks!

    They should be, that is a National Primary road.

    They were last Christmas.

    Although, some minor roads in the Galway region were absolutely lethal on Christmas day - it rained and the rain froze on impact.

    True, the rain washed the salt off and then froze hard. There is a risk of that again on stephens day.
