The games forum has something similar to this, so just thought I'd start one here.

    THIS THREAD MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

What are your biggest "whoa" moments in television. Some of mine:

Eko meets the smoke monster in Lost

Pretty much any Derren Brown special.

There are probably many many more that I cannot think of, but what are yours?

I was gonna pipe in just from seeing the thread title that there were so many moments in Lost. Eko vs smoke being a big one.

The last one that got me was in Mad Men season 3 when
the secretary ran over the guy's foot on the John Deer and blood spattered everywhere.

    "He'll never golf again." :)

What a scene, what an end to such a character. You thought he was too important to kill off and how would the show go on without him. This is the Wire though,so character was safe because in reality no one in "the game" is safe.

Probably the single best moment on TV this year.. and a real "WHOAA!" moment!

Breaking Bad - end of season 3

    ".. RUN!"

    Lads,

Be careful with YouTube clips as they can reveal the spoiler even in the video title.. maybe let's preface every clip / spoiler detail with mentioning the name of the show, and season if possible.

And then use spoiler tags so people can navigate and highlight the ones they have already seen.

    Stargate Atlantis-Season 1
In the Siege episode just as the city goes dark and the flares go up. Looked unreal.

    Stargate Universe Season 2- Resurgence
When the seeder ship appears and that whole scene of flying into the sun and the drones.

As I mentioned above.. when revealing plot details, keep them in spoiler tags.

This thread might take more moderation than it's worth to be honest.

Alias - Season 2's "Phase One":
When we think that it's all over after seeing SD6 taken down, we switch over to Francine's corpse and "Fauxcine" on the phone

    Alias - Season 2 finale:
Sydney waking up, on a different continent,
with Vaughn married and a massive memory gap

    Angel:
When Cordy kills Lilah. When Fred's soul gets eviscerated. When Darla is shown being pregnant

Battlestar Galactica - Season 1 finale:
    Boomer guns Adama down
    .

    Buffy: Multiple instances -
When Giles finds Jenny Calendar dead at the hands of Angelus. When Buffy finds her mum dead on the couch. When Tara gets shot by a stray bullet.

Actually given I've only covered the first 2 letters of the alphabet, I think I could be here a long while :D

Those 2 scences from the final episodes of "This Is England '86" involving just 2 actors...proper acting for grown ups!
    Trev's Rape
    and
    Mick's Death by Hammer!

Pisses over your yank CGI potboilers lads (then I forget that they average age in here and the film forum is about 23 and youse don't do subtitles etc etc- ah the CGI generation) :D

Not sure if this counts but when I saw Kinga on Big Brother go out into the garden with her wine bottle I was absolutely shocked/horrified.

    Battlestar Gallactica : Season 3, Ep. 4
Storming New Caprica when the Gallactica jumps in the atmosphere

youtube clip of it (bit ruined by whoever edited it but it's the closest I could find)

Wow, you're so sophisticated and educated. I'm surprised you have any time for TV with all the classics you read

To be fair basquille, the title says "may contain spoilers" and I have in big black writing at the start saying "this contains spoilers" so if people see something they don't like, it's somewhat their own fault for continuing on in this thread despite the warnings.

ixoy - two major moments from Buffy that shocked me were -
The episode where she has the ability to read minds and figures out that someone wants to kill people
    and when
Nathan Fillion is the psychotic preacher - he was such an unnerving character. Probably where he kills the potential slayers without batting an eyelid

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the title. Actually said "holy ****" out loud on my own after it. Easily my fav moment in any TB series.

    Close second:

    Battlstar galactica season 3 finale:
The final 5 are shown, even somehow the way they did it I didn't know what was going on till they said they were cylons.

I thought this scene was extremely whoa and extremely brave, especially for showing that
the Twin Towers existed Over There

Yeah, i would have thought Fox would crack under pressure for that scene.
