    On the iTune app store there are many city guides for free for 48 hours "to help travellers stranded by the snow in Europe" They may come in handy if you like to travel.

    Are they free for good once they are downloaded or do they automatically become invalid after the 24hrs?

    No, they don't expire. They even update as and when updates are released.

    I got loads the last time they were free and got any I didnt have this time.

    Might even read the dublin one as, lived here ages but never done any of the sights etc
