Windscreen Wiper

My wiper seized today in the frost. My car is a '01 Mercedes with just the one wiper in the middle. Anyone know what it could be? I was thinking maybe its a fuse and that I could just go get one and sort it myself?

Or maybe I won't get off that easy.

    Any suggestions welcome.

Any noise when you try to use it? Could be a fuse, or the motor that controls the movement.

    Thanks for reply.

It makes a small sound like its trying to do something alright. I'll probably have to turn up at a garage and let them look at it.

If it's making a noise, then it sounds like the fuse and the motor may be ok. Assuming it's not frozen into place, could be that the wiper arm has come off the linkage. Not sure is that the right word. :)

    Cool, thanks.
Its not actually frozen right now, so hopefully will be the fuse.
    Thanks again :)

I'm no mechanic, I've just broken a lot of things in cars. :)

Same thing happened me yesterday on my way to work. A nut came off the linkage. Obv didn't have the tools so Aviva came to the rescue and sorted it out. 5 minute job and they were back in action.

If there is a sound, then the fuse is probably ok, maybe the linkage.
