Whole turkey poached in cider and spices

Last year I had a lovely recipe for poaching a whole turkey in cider and spices and then finishing off in the over to crisp up. It was a fantastically succulent turkey but I now can't find the recipe.

I'm not too concerned on the ingredients [wahteven flavours you like really] but does anyone have guidelines on lenght of time a, say, 12lb turkey should be poached for? I also can't remember if it went straight into the oven or if it rested for a while and then in?

Really appreciate if anyone has a recipe for this or can give some guidence on length of time?
