Have finally got the water flowing through the house up to the tank again tonight and have run all taps, toilets etc in sync however, when i switched on the shower unit, no water came out, so i'm presuming there is an airlock.

Any idea how to get rid of this....

Depends how handy you are. You could take the fitting off the shower and run water through it and put it back.

Not handy at all i'm afraid, got a plumber out yesterday who said he could do nothing, then another plumber came later on and got the whole system working again for me, thank god.

Have tried letting the hose hang down with the shower head removed and let the motor run but the water is still not coming through....

Don't do that. it will allow air to rise up the hose and into the shower. Its not good for it.

the only way to do it is bleed it at the shower where the water goes in. it'll also tell you if there is an issue with the water getting to the shower.
