Anyone know if this is working yet?
It seems to recognise where I am alright, but when I go to check in, says place can't be added at this time.

    (Galaxy S btw)

It's not live in Ireland yet. Simple as that really!

    Are you 100% on that?
Strangely enough, my iphone facebook app also now had places, whereas previously it use to only say coming to your area soon.

Just to clarify, now on android and iphone apps, I am able to get my location, but can't actually check in.

I always got this as well - but after reading this thread i tryed again and it seems to work now - like the OP though it wont let me add my current location - possible server issues perhaps?

The latest facebook app for android has added places and a few other nice features such as chat. Places works grand for me on it.

Its weird because it did work before and i had to remove the facebook app and download it a second time. I checked all my settings and they're all fine and correct. I'm not to bothered but when it works for everyone except me it f__king me annoys me more.:)

Click into your Facebook App, and where you have all the options for News Feed, Profile etc. there is one called Places. When you are in this, click "Check in".

Commercial reasons. YOu will be able to benefit from Facebook Deals in the not too near future. Proof of patronage etc. Foursquare has a more fun element, FB PLaces will be used to help people get discounts and deals from places when they can prove they were there and then show this fact off to the 130 friends in their feed. Free advertising innit.
