I bought a pair of adidas 360 3.0 limited edition shoes earlier in the year when I was living in the UK. They started to leak a few weeks ago, so I contacted Adidas about returning them. They said I had to return them to the original store, but I could try a local store if it was a problem getting to the original store, although they were not obliged to return them.

Added to this, I didn't have the original receipt. I called into Halpenny golf on Sunday and they said they would contact Adidas and see what they could do.

They no longer make the 3.0 limited edition which I would have preferred, but today I collected a pair of the new adidas 360 4.0 shoes from Halpenny golf, and they were exceptionally helpful.

I am not shy about complaining when customer service goes wrong, so thought I would give them credit when they got it right.

I have to say it's a great shop with fantastic staff, it's the only golf shop I use now. "top marks"

Yeah have started using Halpenny recently too and find them great. Signed up my mobile with them and they have good text offers every so often.

So much nicer to deal with than McGuirks. Prices are generally around the same too.

+1 about Halpennys. Their customer service is excellent

Up, i'd have to agree with you guys n Halpenny's Customer Service.

McGuirks had an offer on R9 Drivers a while back for €139, but it was only for the 9.5 degree with either normal or stiff shaft. I contacted halpenny and asked if they would match the offer, for what i wanted as they had it on their online store, a 10.5 degree with stiff shaft.

Eventho it wasn't a like for like comparison, they matched the price and shipped it for free. Great lads.

Have to say the staff are great and as someone who works in town it's great to have a proper shop that you can go in to pick up balls, tees and the like.

More of a McGuirks man myself. Wider selection of clubs and deals on clothes are better than Halpenny, especially at this time of year. You will come across bargains at each though from time to time. Staff contribution in one store or the other has no interest for me. Item I want, at the best price, is all I want.

top quality shop, nice friendly staff too.

only drawback is that they don't generally stock Ping

Halpenny I think are not allowed sell ping due to a dispute over crazy prices when the g15 was launched!they put the g15 driver out for E199 when it first came out and were advertising it, which at the time was'nt allowed.
Just to let fellow users know that mcguirks now take advantage of this and are making big bucks selling ping{look at there prices versus local pro shops-some cases E100 dearer]
So anyone interested in buying ping products stay clear of mcguirks! Mcguirks offer great value elsewhere though

I thought it was price fixing that wasnt allowed ?

Could it be that they are not allowed to advertise below a certain price? For example, on this site (http://www.onlinegolf.co.uk/Brands/Adidas-Shoes/b1343/sc1595.aspx) they show the price of the Adidas 360, and the Adidas AdiPure Nuovo Men’s Golf Shoes, but it says "Click for price" for the Adidas adiPure Men’s Golf Shoe, but they are allowed to sell it below the specified price.

Same on this website (http://www.snaintongolf.co.uk/section/1266/1/adidas) and again just for Adidas products.

All - just a comment on Halpenny Golf Lucan which I just have to share with the golfing community. I brought in my Taylor Made (Burner 2) Pitching Wedge to the Lucan branch as the head had snapped off (in the normal course of play!). I brought it in with the intention of getting it reshafted through their repair service. However, the staff there suggested that the whole set be sent back to Taylor Made with a cover letter explaining what happened. They asked me to show them the rest of the set, examined them and suggested that some of the irons looked a little crooked near the hosels. They suggested shipping the whole lot back to Taylor Made. Worse that could happen would be they would fix the wedge with Taylor Made shaft, grip etc and send me the bill. All of this administration work was organised by Halpennys. To my delight, 3 weeks later I was presented with my whole set fully reshafted and regripped!! This was at zero cost to me! This is despite the fact that the clubs were 2 years old and were not even purchased originally in Halpennys. Excellent service from these guys. Another retailer might have just reshafted the club themselves and sent on the bill. Thumbs up also to Taylor Made - standing over their clubs. Will definately purchase again.

They're great guys in the Lucan store and I always do my bigger shopping there.

The guys in Grafton street are great guys too.

Went in the other night looking at putters. Leaning towards a 2-ball. The guy said to me that he wouldn't just sell a putter to me, that it was a busy night so if I came back at a quieter time he'd pull out a mat and let me try all the putters before taking any money from me. Thought it was a good attitude as some other shops would just snap your hand off for a sale & not give a crap if they sold you the wrong putter. He was also leaning me towards cheaper options too,so don't think he's just trying to move me towards a scotty or some other top of the line club

I buy from Halpenny's in Lucan all the time as the staff are very obliging and helpful. I will now go out of my way to ensure they get my business. I used to shop in McGuirks in Blanchardstown, but got tired of being ignored by the staff. They just seem disinterested and it feels awkward interrupting their group discussions to ask a question.
