Quick question: we upgraded from single-phase to three-phase into the farm last year, does anyone know if I can reclaim the VAT on the work done by ESB Networks? Does it count as "construction, extension, alteration or reconstruction of farm buildings and structures"? Ta.

I upgraded in 2008 from single to 3 phase. I asked accountant and she said it isn,t allowed but she put it in anyway with other stuff. Wasn,t paid on it. Came to a good bit. You would imagine it should be allowed as in my case all the work was on my land.

Thanks for that. I did it because I put in an aeration system for the slurry tank and it needed 3-phase, but it makes sense long-term too.
