Double Charged for Ebay Item

    Right so I bought and paid for an item at the start of November
    04 NOV 2010 CARD PAYMENT TO PAYPAL *NICKBLOOD,25.00 GBP ON 01-11-2010

    and then this payment pops up on my bank statement.
    08 DEC 2010 PAID ITEM FEE CARD PAYMENT TO PAYPAL *NICKBLOOD,25.00 GBP ON 01-11-2010

    Same cost on both and the money definitely came out both times with the only difference being what is written as above.

    Checked paypal and it only has the first transaction recorded but not the second so I've emailed the seller to confirm but if he says the money only came through once am I stuck?

    Odd that it wouldn't show up on your paypal account. If you're 100% sure you got charged twice then I'd give your bank a call and figure out what triggered the 2nd charge.

    Probably a bank error, it happens sometimes with debit cards. Give the bank a call, and get them to investigate the 2nd charge. Tell them Paypal are unaware of it, so they didn't make the charge.

    Are you not mistaken here -

    First off , the 25 stg was taken from your credit card , and you paid for item using Paypal , so of course the 25 stg shows only once on your Paypal account .

    It would be a mistake , if you had the 25 stg in Paypal before you paid for item.( in this case it would not show on your credit card )

    But if you paid for item directly from your credit card using paypal , it is normal for the amount to be seen twice :
    1. - credit card
    2. - paypal .

    From what I can see, it's showing twice on his bank statement, which would not be normal. Only one charge is showing in Paypal though, so they didn't charge it twice. It sounds like a bank error.
