Had to jump start my vw passat earlier which was fine but after it started my ABS and a flashing warning lamps came on and are still on.

Anyone know why this would happen after a jump start?
    Is it safe to drive?

    Thanks

All i can think of is that the lack of power (jump start because of a dead battery?) has upset your ABS system which runs all kinds of checks when starting the car. Some real specialist will come along soon. A healthy battery and maybe a system reset might solve the issue. Driving the car would do no harm I think although your ABS might not work at the moment.

Possibly the weather with snow getting in to the system, maybe the thaw will sort it?

are you sure you got the terminals right when you connected the jump leads?

Jumping modern cars is a risky proposition, when you have started the dead car, always switch the lights on before you disconnect the leads, this allows the lights to absorb any possible surges you can get from disconnecting the leads.
You can get surge protected leads but they aren't common here.
There is a lot of amps coming out of a modern alternator and computer systems don't like big pulses of current.

Had a jump start last week. The car had completely immobilised itself when the battery died (no lights on dash or anything). Took a long time and many attempts to jump start. After I got it started all sorts of lights were coming on the dash (ABS, airbags, service light). Drove it round the carpark for a while and everytime i turned a corner the ABS light would come on. I just revved pretty hard for a couple oof minutes to get some charge back in the battery and it's been ok since.
