Bought one of these today as i'll be going on holidays soon,
and didn't want to bring my iriver h340 due to its bulkiness and the fear of losing it.

    The good:
    • Very Good Audio Quality (Was Really suprised) Decent volume too.
      - A mild hiss is barely noticeable with lower volume tracks,
      - Artifacts can be heard with extremely low volume intros, again not a problem for the price.
    • Playback is resumed on power up.
    • Very stable playback at 320Kpbs (no clicks, pops or skips, even on DJ Mixes). (havent tried .wma files).
    • It has been 7 hours since i last unplugged the usb connection, (which charges it also) and this little guy is still going.
    • Its very small and lightweight, the plastic shell seems nice and hard when squeezed.
    • No software needs to be installed, just drag and drop into the drive in My Computer.

    The bad:
    • Very slow transfer speed, (will post actual speed soon).
    • So wouldn't really use it for Portable Apps or copying big files in a hurry.
    • Only 3 Buttons - No Rewind or Fastforward. , No Folder/Album Skip.
    • Volume Up/Down buttons are shared with Next/Prev Track, you must hold either button to change the volume.
    • The in-ear earphones that come with it have crap sound quality but are comfortable.
(I tested it with Sennheiser headphones, the earphones might suit kids fine or people who aren't too hung up about sound quality.).

While going back and forth between tracks, i activated a shuffle mode, which is undocumented in the manual (i think!).
Edit: press both side buttons to activate Shuffle, to deactivate it, power off and power on again.

The usb cable actually plugs into the headphone socket like the ipod shuffles,
    it looks like this:

All in all a great little player, just remember to turn it on, you simply insert your headphones, (it wont turn on unless they're inserted.)

If anyone else is going abroad, then check out this deal on a USB charger travel kit in maplin for just over €11.99:
