    Hi there,

Received my first JSB payment today and just wondering how do I go about getting a medical card? Nothing was said to me when I registered at my local SW office and I forgot to enquire.

    Thanks in advance.

Cheers Shifty, I found out where my local health centre is so will go in tomorrow. Do you know if you can get application forms from SW office as the health centre is a bit of a trek away?

You can apply online www.medicalcard.ie - you just print off the form then and bring it to your doctor. No need to be trekking to any office. SW offices wouldn't stock them.

AFAIK medical cards are not available if you are recieving JSB and not JSA
