    when do you lamb?

we lamb the early flock starting about 22 jan and a later bunch mostly of ewe lambs from late march

we experienced no more repeats this year than others, the early lambers got Liquid thrive from Agri lloyd and the later ones were bolused with animex

if you going for later lambing I imagine the cold weather could have affected fertility

Lambing at end of dacember and the ewes scanned just under 200. Only 1 ewe lamb in lamb though. For me, it was drought in the lambs paddocks and i should have gone in earlier with supplements. And just because the ram fertile last year doesnt mean he will be this year. I always try to double up the ram power as insurance when possible. At least they are cycling i suppose even though late lambs are a pain in the backside

the ewes are absorbing the lambs because of the snow instead of twins in april u get a single in middle of may the joys of farming !! try putting out high energy buckets as soon as it snows helps some of them but not all !!!
