Fantastic set of photos! I found the picture of the Georgian man holding his dead relative and the shot of the culled seal cubs to be the most shocking.

Jesus, you'd swear nothing good came about of the last 10 years.

Throw in a few positive photos.

Most depressing bunch of photo's I've seen in a while

i suspect that any decade you pick from the last several centuries would be 'defined' by images of conflict.

Strangely - I found nothing shocking in the pics .... some of them were...well..meh !!

none of them stood out and made me wonder how they got the pic .... they're all fairly basic photojournalism.... you get the pics if you are in the right place at the right time.

Kudos to the photographers .... getting the access and in many cases putting themselves on the firing line(probably).

the issue with the quality of the pics was very probably getting the rights to use the good stuff - i suspect a website called 'totallycoolpix.com' would not have the financial or editorial clout of the NYT or boston.com.

I doubt many of the photographers were arranging access through the website - they all seem to be press photographers most likely working for agencies.

I think Reuters is the only agency named, so maybe they did a deal with them?
