Epic "LIVE" moments

This is only in reference to shows you have been to, moments which truly stand out for their awesomeness or otherwise?

I have quite a few, going from IWW to WWE with a few others in between.

Probably my favourite moment was at ROH in Liverpool when Mark & Jay Briscoe faced off in one of my favourite matches of all time. Just the finish, a double ko, everyone just got to their feet as one to give a standing ovation for a near perfect match.

Another is from my first ever WWE show. It was at the Tour Of Defiance in 2004, WWEs first visit to Dublin in a decade. It was Ric Flair Vs Edge with Flair as the heel. No one would boo him, regardless of how heelish he behaved. It was brilliant.

My favourite ever IWW moment came in 2005, when Vic Viper faced Jay Phoenix (laterly James Wallace for those into Britwres) in Waterford. Two good young workers put together an amazingly technical match which the crowd were going bat**** crazy for. Totally divided. I think I was firmly in the "Lets Go VIPER" camp.

And most recently, at the DG shows in UK, Susumu Yokosuka Vs Shingo in a masterclass of brutality. It was another of those that the end came and the corwd rose as one to applaud a facking barnstormer.

I am sure I have many more.

My favourite is still my first ever WWE show, not sure what year, maybe 04 or 05,it was the one that was held in the RDS outdoors and Stone Cold was the ref for the main event, couldn't believe that Austin was right in front of me in person! and also Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guererro had an awesome match that night too.

Been to a good few indy shows(IWW and NLW I think)my favourite one was held in the laughter lounge and had a very violent main event where some lad did a moonsault off the bar and hit his head on the roof, also remember giving Drew Galloway directions to Dorans in Temple Bar while I was walking to my bus stop.

JBL in dublin a few years ago. It was Undertaker and Kane, vs JBL, Booker T, and I think someone else, but I can't remember... JBL had retired at this stage, but was back in the ring a bit out of shape, but was amazing on the mic and gave the crowd some abuse ... was fantastic.

For me it was the Cena/Michaels at the live Raw in London a few years ago, the one that was nearly a full hour. That was EPIC and in my view moty.

Also in the point a few year ago, Cena vs Angle, the place was LOUD for that, massive chants of alternating "let's go Cena" "let's go Angle".

And i remember in the RDS, think it was Jindrak in the match, he got the worst looking chop over the top rope, completely nothing, and getting a "holy s**t" chant going. Good times, good times.

Seeing 17-0 happen would be mine. Just wow.

Hearing Misawa and Kobashi's entrance themes and ring entrances live was a fairly lose-the-head moment for me.

Also Nigel Mc Guinness busting himself open hardaway on the ring post in Liverpool agaisnst Danieson was epic, as was the whole match afterwards. First I was , them I was :(, then I was :pac:. Austin Aries reverse Rana on one of the Briscoes was unreal was well.

What about seeing five in a row go up in smoke?;)

It was Orlando Jordon, wasn't it? Or was it Mr. kennedy?

I remember going to the show the night before and they set up that match. Was so pissed off cause I obviously couldn't afford to go to a second showthe night after. Freaked me that our show basically became an advertisement for the next one -_-

Smackdown in the Point in '06 ? It was the setup for the match with Austin in the RDS Cena getting attacked by Angle and I think JBL with chairs, steps etc and being totally busted open. Kids beside us crying..
Then the pop for Austin being announced as the ref in the RDS. toally unexpected.

Mine is again the Tour Of Defiance . We were running late and was my 1st wrestling event . Once we got into the point all we could hear was "Slut Slut Slut" so we ran towards the steps to get to the seats, Even though are seats were gone we just took someone elses :). But anyways it was Matt/Lita vs Trish/Tomko the event was just unreal. Especially since i hadnt seen Raw previous i didnt no HBK had been taken off suspension so when his music hit for the 2nd last match i think Orton/Flair/Batista vs Edge/Y2J/HBK. When the music hit the roof was blown off the point.

IWW Supershow was a great event aswell especially the Donnybrook 4 Way M Dogg 20 vs Red Vinny vs Storm vs Fleisch was off the hook especially from the front row also Styles vs Daniels was great to see

Yes I was there for that. Was it not '04 or '05? I was amazed Cena bled to set up the angle. He was bleeding like a stuffed pig as J.R. would say. Then Austin was announced as heading to Ireland and the place went crazy.

JBL coming out to The Irish Rover with a leprechaun hat on his head and then proceeding to, I think, start stomping on the hat and the Irish flag was pretty special too. Then Angle's music hit and I was confused as I thought he was coming out to stop JBL and then he joined in. Good stuff. :D

Stone Cold's glass shatter was pretty epic live as was Undertaker's entrance. Also JBL's promo to the RDS crowd that 'your women look like men, your men are gay' or words to that effect was quite memorable.

Also have to say when Bischoff did the 10 bell salute for Eddie at the Raw show I was at was a pretty hair-raising moment. Everyone gave it massive respect and it was quite a beautiful but sad moment all in one. You knew there was tons of appreciation for the guy in the arena that night.

My one regret as a wrestling fan. :(

I remember that, wasn't there a HUGE Eddie chant outside?

The one that springs to mind for me was at TNA's first european tour in Liverpool; Rhyno and Booker were wrestling, and the crowd was comprised of rabid 20-30 year old smarks. There were deafening 'let's go rhyno let's go booker' dueling chants for the entire match. It was amazing.

The wrestlers seemed really taken aback by it. Booker tried to keep wrestling heel but couldn't help cracking a huge smile before leaving to go into the back.

Favourite show i've been to :)

I was just about to mention this. It was the loudest I've ever heard a crowd and it was especially amazing that it was for a Rhino/Booker T match. Awesome show too.

I've a couple of others. The WM 25 HBK/'Taker match was an amazing atmosphere and just an astounding match. Also getting to see Steamboat wrestle live over that weekend was truly an honour.

The other is the Foley/Flair match from the pre-BFG live iMPACT!. We changed our travel plans entirely just to be there at the cost of a couple of hundred euro and only just got into Orlando a couple hours earlier but it was worth it, that match was some spectacle to see in person.

That was fantastic, me and KKV were right at the barriers when he was walking around before the faces came out giving abuse. He ripped up some kids sign and laughed in their face. Great moment. Got some amount of heat from the adults, well parents, around her. Literally screaming in his face for doing it to her.
I remember turning to kkv and realising that they had been out getting heat for a good 15 minutes before the first face, kane, came out.

Another great great moment from that was when Kennedy was introducing JBL, he gave tony shimel some knock and tony took the bump like a pro.

Kennedy proceeded to introduce Bradshaw with "John. Braaaadshaw. LEYYYYFIIELLLDDDD!!......

    *leyyfiiiiiiield*

That was a great angle. Was at the barriers, again, but near the walkway and got a great pic of Cena bleeding being carried out by Angle and big show? I think? I must dig it out and stick it up later on.

I'll always remember walking into the point going to my first live wwe show.
I couldn't believe it. I remember just staring at the ring and thinking how cool it was.

One of my other favorite moments was at summerbash too.
That video from Vince on the screens was a really nice touch.

    * the pop austin received from the 20,000 in attendance at mayhem in manchester april 1998, it was a 6 days removed from him winning the title at WM14, the reaction was incredible and even moreso when you consider the what the likes of hhh/taker and the rock received at the same event, i have never heard anything like that response since

    * summerslam 2002 the whole event, i doubt i will ever attend a ppv as good again :D

*austins appearance on jerichos highlight reel at insurrection in newcastle june 2003

    * eddie and benoit hugging in the middle of the ring at WM20 following an incredible triple threat

    * hbk and taker slugging it out for 15mins at the end of 2007 rumble

    *hbks ladder spot at wm22

    *flairs "retirement" at wm24

*hbks "retirement" at wm26 and his speech on raw the night after

    outside wwe/f

*iww zero gravity tournament in balbriggan in january 2007

    * awr joey cabra and paddy morrow in castlebar march 2008, morrows table bump was especially epic

*seeing sandman replicate his ONS entrance at that castlebar event (his entrance went through two runnings of enter sandman), i was in new york the day of the first ons and still regret not booking an extra night instead of flying home just as that ppv started so at least that went some way towards not making me regret forever :(

*tna, the beach ball coming into play during the team 3d vs matt morgan/abyss match in national stadium in jan 2009

*sting making us hold up the irish flag while he put james storm head first through it and the wall at the very first live impact in orlando

The Rock v Steve Austin in Manchester at Rebellion 2001. They were the two hottest guys in wrestling at the time, the crowd was electric, and they put on a great 25 minute match.

-TNA's first live show at the national stadium. Some quality matches, including Angle/styles, the beachball as mentioned earlier, and the "brokeback mountain" chant for james storm

-DGUSA's first anniversary show at the ECW arena, seeing Shingo and Danielson destroy each other was incredible...as was meeting bryan afterwards!

i think i was there as well, wasnt that in dublin where somebody threw flair an irish flag after his tag match with hbk v triple h and masters and also cena held the title belt above his head wrapped in irish flag after match with angle or was i there on a different night?

Most epic live thing for me is visiting Korakuen Hall a bunch of times while I was in Tokyo. Each time I went to the arena there was something amazing to see. Prince Devitt in the final night of the 2009 Best Of Super Juniors is the most memorable. Had a fantastic match with Kota Ibushi then had a dramatic final with Koji Kanemoto. Felt surreal to hear the Japanese fans cheer more for the Irishman than for their own guy. Even spotted two cute women in the crowd waving tiny Irish flags during the final.

There was also an All Japan show where I saw Keiji Muto/Great Muta wrestle three times in one night. They were really just house show type matches but it is such a thrill seeing Muta spit the Mist to his opponents. Also a fan sitting in front of me got soaked in water by the lead heel, TARU.

And then there's Dragon Gate. Holy crap, Dragon Gate. The UK shows were all incredible top to bottom but there really is nothing like seeing one of their shows in Korakuen Hall. Even all of the little things like the jingle they play before each match, the ring announcer naming the wrestlers and the random fans calling for their favourites is such a joy to see live.

Yeah I think that's it. Wasn't there a girl that tried to get in the ring with Cena? Can't recall if she managed it or not.

thats right she did make it, she was hugging but she run off and jumped the barriers before the security finally managed to drag themselves into the ring. triple h put on a good show that night for the fans as well with his comedic heel stuff, the place popped when he made his ring entrance. very good.

Was that the time he did the flair flop after standing in the corner dazed for a couple of minutes? My heads a bit fuzzy, they all seem to meld in together.
