I'm strapped for cash and really hope to get away with not shopping for a new dress. (which is killing me!) I have this really cute Cream dress and wonder if it could work with the right accessories?

I'm thinking black tights, cute black strappy heels, and a black wrap. ????

Would the black tights and black shoes not look a little too, emm, dark, especially when put with a black shrug? If you are pairing it with black tights and shoes, then I'd look at going for a very thin pair of black tights rather than thick ones.

Have you any other coloured shoes or shrug that you could pair it with? Depending on the colour of the cream (I'm never sure if the colour in the picture is representative of the 'real life' colour), maybe you could try a purple, green or navy instead, if you happened to have them?

thats lovely i think the black tights would be perfect with it and a wrap will really dress it up

The dress is sort of a really light mauve with black, gray and cream sequins on the waist. I was thinking the black accessories would "winterize" it a bit, but keep the sparkle (my shoes have cute little black/gray rhinestones).

Also, to be honest...there was that bit of me thinking how cold it will be in Kilkenny on New Years, and dreaming of black tights! :)

    Hi
I actually have this dress (also got it for a wedding) and tbh black tights didnt work with it - dulled it down too much so I ended up with skin coloured tights (would normally never wear tights but thought it was too cold not to!) and a pair of grey high heel peeptoes and matching evening bag (I own a shoe shop so shoes never a problem for me!). I got a really cute grey faux fur cropped jacket from awear and just wore some bracelets from penneys on one arm. It looked really good (even if I do say so myself) and I have to say the dress was really comfy too!

Hope that helps and enjoy your day whatever you decide to wear!!

Personally I hate black tights at a wedding. Go for natural colour. Just my 2 cents. Lovely dress btw.

    Lovely dress :)

I went to a wedding recently and was worried about all the comments about not wearing thick black tights to a wedding.

I went with it anyway as I felt my dress was too short for natural tights, I wouldn't have been comfortable showing too much leg.

Plenty of guests at the wedding were wearing thick black tights, so if that's what you want to wear then go ahead, you'll look more beautiful if you're in something you're comfortable and confident in.

Will go against the grain here - I had a small wedding close to Christmas day and I feel that the dress looks a little too much like a wedding dress (and a little too much like my one!) - it is a nice dress but I think that stronger colours are better as you do not want to be confused with the bride.

I'd go with mauve tights and black peep toe shoes.

I like the dress a lot but I would avoid dark thick tights - I just can't see them working with the dress.
