    Hey lads,

Just a quick question in regards to lite variants of rifle (eg: Tikka T3 LITE instead of Varmint).

Just want to know are there any major differences in regards to the peformance of or degradition through use of the LITE versions.

    Cheers.

    Lite, generally means Light weight.
    Varmint generally means heavy barrel.

I have 2 varmint rifles, both have heavy barrels, in a .223 a varmint barrel is generally 24-26" but can be up to 28" for Serious Target work.

Varmint barrels are for shooting lots of rounds downrange in quick sucession.

A hunting rifle can have a lite barrel as it only generally needs less than 3 rounds fired in a days hunting, bar zero'ing rifle

Thanks Tack. So if i'm only doing the hunting bit then a lite barrel will do the job for me saving me a couple of hundred quid. Simple math really i think.
