hello all i'm only just new to this boards.ie but i needed some good advice about a somewhat private matter so i'm hoping to get some help here.I had my niece who's aged 22 call to see me yesterday and i knew something was up with her so after alot of persuasion i got her talking and it appears for the past 10 years her father has been telling her she'll never be any good for anything calling her a loser and so on and lately he's started sending her texts saying these things and worse i've seen the texts and also my niece is an extremely talented musician and has been offered the chance to record with a very famous irish musician but her father has threatened to take her instrument off her which i think is a disgrace clearly this guy is a bully and a coward and i'm kind of blaming myself for not seeing this i just want to know if there's anything i can do or if anything at all can be done.Anyone got any advice

    Hi

If your neice is 22 get her to move out of her home and get a new mobile number. This type of bullying is sometimes about control and /or jealousy..If that power is taken away from him he may in time consider his actions. It worked for me.

Depending on the kind of messages and threats she is receiving she may be eligible for an order against him.

If it is very bad she could also make a complaint of harassment against him to the Gardaí.

The best thing for her to do would be to move out and block his number.
