I got a call from fas today.They had a place for a course i applied for this time last year.They are a complete waste of money,Im working now thank god and dont have to deal with them.

You should have deferred that course until the next one. Then they will phone you again offering you a place. Defer again and so on. If you ever lose that job you would have got on that FÁS course quickly.
