    Hi guys,

i traded in my slim ps3 about a month and a half ago for a spanking new 250gb slim 360. The 360 is great in fairness, no problems with it so far and some awesome games. The problem is i just dont like it, miss the feel and a lot of other things of the ps3.

I'll be trading in in again soon to get another ps3 and my question is; will i be able to recover my psn account or will i have to create a new one?

    Thanks for any replies guys,

For shame on you switching to the dark side!!:p At least you've learned your lesson anyway! You're PSN ID will be fine AFAIK, you can log in on any console with it, including a new one you may purchase once you haven't deleted it.

Hang on, when it fell over and destroyed Black Ops? Fell over?

    Seriously?

Ok, knocked over when i tugged on a cable. It was an accident and it sucked, not the consoles fault, i'm still annoyed it happened tho

Someone I know works for a games retailer, and she says she gets a lot of people with 360 discs with laser burn and ring scratches on them. Microsoft should really advise customers to only use their Xbox horizontally - as is her store's advice to people.

I too bought an XBOX 360 recently. I am really happy with my purchase and it's good to have the choice of games for both.

They tell people not to move the Xbox when playing discs. Its enough. I've mine 3 years now, been standing all that time, and no burns on any of my discs. Why? Because I don't try to juggle the damn thing while playing Fallout:NV.

I had a Playstation (the original big grey box), Playstation 2 (the original big black box) and had a PS3 for a while. Just couldn't feel any love for the PS3. Graphically excellent, but just didn't feel as comfortable with it as I did with the Xbox.

    Thats my story.

Who said these people were juggling their 360s? A light tap or just opening the disc drive has been known to do it. Just because it hasn't happened to you does not therefore mean that it cannot and does not happen. You are much better off having your 360 sitting horizontally, which is how I have mine.

Had both PS3 & xbox and much prefer the xbox..
The PS3 is great for streaming but I hate playing games on the controller..sony shouldn't have bottled when designing a new one..the xbox one is miles more comfortable..
Graphically both are about the same however games tend to look xbox due to better implementation of anti aliasing..eg Street Fighter 4..
Ideally I'd like to have the xbox with the PS3 capabilities like blu-ray and that I can throw in any notebook hard drive if I want to and copy movies to it..
or maybe a PS3 with xbox games and live :D

I wrecked a game in the Xbox in a similar situation, Smiths replaced it for me no questions asked! True story

Yet I would gladly take a hammer to the XBox controller. Opinions vary to say the least.

Sold my xbox two months ago. Only really liked gears of war on it. Couldn't use the pad at all. Just didn't feel as good as the PS3s analogue sticks. Anywho you can't go wrong with either console they both pretty much offer the same experience gaming wise.

I plan on getting a 360 again for Gears 3, at the moment the PS3 has better exclusives imo, I just got sick of the xbox breaking, I'm notoriously uppity about how I keep my stuff so everythings in great condition (i used to leave the dust sheet on my ps3 so the shiny top wouldnt get dusty or scratched, and between me and my flatmate we've been through 7 360's between us,since launch day, thats just unaccaceptable

Having both is a little posh, though.

Is it? I paid 450 for the PS3 about 5 years ago and 250 for the XBOX 360 this year. That's not a whole lot of money when spread out over 5 years.

A few experiences for me with Xbox..

They do not understand that when I say I dont want a repair/different console that I mean I dont want one, yet they actually work away book the repair anyways..

Now my limited edition halo reach xbox which was extremely loud playing games was sent back and received a new one, however as I was not aware of them collecting my console they took my limited edition box..

They told me to write to them but I says why should I it aint my fault use screw up so much... Got a new xbox back and it has the exact same problem.. Total disgrace tbh... May have to write a long letter of complaint to them after christmas..

Notice how I said about 5 years ago. 5 years was a stab in the dark. I got the PS3 a year or so after launch.

As a content Xbox 360 owner I have to disagree. The controller is great for FPS games etc, but for fighting games it's the worst. That d-pad was designed by Satan himself. Thankfully MS are releasing a new controller with a vastly improved d-pad early next year. Nothing beats the six button mega drive controller though.

You folks got ripped off, mine was €720 with 2 games. Think it was 630 on its own

Ya it was with games i got three with mine so wasn't ripped of like you put it, but i referred to bits and bobs as having to buy a wireless adapter and to buy a years membership to Xbox live and even the short lived HD-DVD external drive at the time which would have brought the price of the xbox at the time up to the same price of the PS3 at launch.

Ah right right, I get you now, apologies. I would imagine that it would probably work out the same.

A PS3 was the logical purchase for me as I had a few friends with them and the free online gaming was the seller for me. If I had to pay for it, I actually don't think I would. (probably still would):pac:

OP here again, you know what i really missed about ps3? The dashboard, just love the layout of it. Having a browser is really brilliant as well. Its pretty quiet, i was mad for the 360 controller for a long time, i find myself pining for the ps3 controller again.

The 360 as I said before is brilliant, cant find many faults with it, i just dont love it like i did my ps3.

At the price that the consoles are these days I don't see how everyone doesn't have both...

I've both and I love them both, I use my 360 more simply because more of my friends have 360s so i play online with them...
