Does anyone know whether the NCT checks the headlight flash switch? My dipped beam and main beam are OK, just the instant flash switch doesn't work, and my test isnext week. Any ideas?

The manual makes no mention of the headlamp flasher, only that dip/main must function. A defective switch will fail, but as far as I can see, a switch that doesn't flash but still switches dip/main is ok.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to replace it. Looks like a bugger to get out, though; but that's what Christmas holidays are for, eh?

OK, final update. I called them this morning and it looks as though Dan Jaman is right: full and dipped beams are tested, but not the headlight flasher. The chap seemed surprised, said he'd never been asked the question before, and had to check with a superior. I do think, though, that I'll try to replace it, as there are times when it's useful, but the immediate pressure is off. Thanks to all who responded.
