Pregnant on the Pill

Ive been on the 28day pill for over 6 months now (Yaz you take active tablets for 24 days and a 4 day break when u take placebo tabs). Last month I was heading on holidays and didnt take the break in the pill so I wouldnt have my period while I was away. However when the break came following this months pill, 6 days ago, I didnt bleed. I had a slight dark blood like discharge yesterday but it disappeared overnight.

I take the pill religiously as the last thing I want is for me and my boyfriend to get pregnant.

Im wondering if you guys think I should take a test, if maybe Ive just been unlucky? and how soon can I take it to get a proper result

    Thanks

You won't know until you do a test hon. Go and get a First Response test as it will detect pregnancy hormones at a very early stage of pregnancy. Hope for your own sake that its negative. No point in speculating and worrying yourself when you haven't done a test though.

AFAIK those First Response ones are the ones that detect pregnancy hormones the earliest, but a look on their website shows they can be used from up to 6 days before your period is due, so if it's sooner than that, the result might not be accurate.

OP, this happened to me a few years ago, I kept taking my pill on what should have been my 'off' week because I was away, and it was a couple of months before my 'period' settled back to being in my 'off' week again. I'd say go and talk to your GP, they'll be able to give you more info than we can.

The best way to get rid of your worry is obviously to take a test or go to your GP. However, I often skip my break on the pill and my next period isn't always normal, so personally it wouldn't bother me, but as I say, probably best to get a test if you're worried.

Take a test, its the only way to know.
As others have said though, often running multiple packets together can mess things up for the following month so it could be nothing.
