Can anyone recommend a good free or cheap sat nav for the iPhone 4? Tom Tom at 70 euro seems very dear when you could buy a sat nav for a little more. I tried skobblor and nav free but neither seemed to be able to pick up my current location ( mayo) or maybe I'm not using them properly.

Co-pilot gets fairly decent reviews, it's cheap but not as good at the Tom Tom..
The GPS receiver in the iphone is not too great which is why Tomtom has a cradle with built in receiver as well but it's pricey at €100..

The good ones can be expensive, but Navigon often have sales, so keep an eye out for that one. Currently it is €30 for the UK and Ireland, up to €60 for Europe.

They're worth it though, the cradle makes the sat nav much more responsive, while the app itself is really excellent.

Have tried a few - Navigon tops it for me! Excellent updates - never had any issues with GPS signal - used in Europe and spot on.
Since I have bought it there has been 1 update (free) that included updated maps.

€60 for Europe is a good price at the moment!

I use the Tom Tom cradle with the Navigon app, and it is very handy, not just from a gps viewpoint, but the handsfree, recharging, and iPod playing facilities make it well worth it. Plus, I got it on the black Friday sale, so I think it was only €70, but I would have paid the €100 if I'd had to.

I'm using Navfree Uk and Ireland. I have to say its not bad at all for a free satnav. It has an option to search for an address using google maps which means it can find anywhere you want.

Iv got Tom Tom uk and Ireland and it occasinallu just thinks im 200m to the left of the road very annoying and when you close it and reopen it works but not something you should have to do while driving
