    Hi all,

Just to let everyone know in advance, we are having a free day in the Block on the 29th of December. The walk on fee is waived but bbs and rentals remain the same price.

Obviously spaces are limited so get your name in there soon ;)

Contact individual sites to find out who is partaking this year :D

It's long past time I gave this place a whirl, and this fits my pretty skint status nicely. Sign me up there please!

Hi, my friend was asking about going paintballing. I've done paintball before, but never airsoft. If there was maybe 10 of us, going to say the nearest site to Bray Co. Wicklow, what kind of costs would be involved and would we be able to walk in with no experience at all and be guided on what to do, given necessary safety masks, overalls, guns, ammo etc? How does it compare to paintball?

We're in Tallaght, For 10 of you it would be €450. That includes rental of all the gear and unlimited ammuniton for the time. You don't need experience, the one thing we have in common with paintball is that we give clear safety and game instructions to help you enjoy your experience ;)

Thanks for the reply :) So it's 45 quid a head and we'll have everything provided for us with unltd ammo. What if we can only get 5 to go, or what if there's 20 of us? Is the 29th going to be limited spaces and when would booking need to be confirmed by? Also, since none of us have our own gear anyway, would any other day work out the same cost, or would it still be cheaper on the 29th? I didn't even know until now it was indoor in a big office block, sounds great :)

Oh no sorry its €45 any day bar the 29th, there is no walk on fee that day so it would be only €25 a head but we are limiting the rentals available on the day dude. If you brought 20 on any other day we could ofcourse do a deal.

Ah, so only €25 a head on the 29th for gear and unltd ammo? Will get onto my friend who's organising it and let them know and hopefully we can get something organised on time :)

Cool, again the amount of rentals available will be limited as group bookings will be. We couldn't accept a booking of 20 or anywhere near it on the day.

Cool, I didn't actually see the "on any other day" about the 20 in the post above and thought it was still referring to the 29th, but that's understandable of course. I'll see what the story is anyway, even 45 isn't bad anyway. How much time do you get for €45 (€25 on 29th) and how much of that is playtime, is there a stop for lunch as is it bring your own grub or what way does it work? New to this as you can tell :P

You get 5 hours play for that, bring your own grub and we normally have a wee break every two games or so. We don't stop for lunch though as that would cut into your time mate.

That sounds great, no break for lunch suits us better! My friend was looking for a number to call you on, do you publish one at all and if not, could you pop me a PM with it please?

Hey again, my friend rang Gemma but was told that on the 29th, it's still 45eur if you don't have your own gear? If you could confirm and liaise with her that it's €25 for the likes of my group that would be great. Could be about 8-10 of us if that's ok?

    Hi Guys,

As the organiser of the National Get out And Skirmish Day I have to inform you that the 29th of December is NOT the N.G.O.A.S.D.

I decided not to hold this Years N.G.O.A.S.D. over the xmas due to bad weather and some sites being closed for the winter and some new sites opening.... it will be held in early spring to maximise the amount of sites taking part, to give you the skirmisher more choices of where to play.

However there is sites opening for a free skirmish over the holiday period with the Office Block being one of them and also Redbarn on the 27th (Members only), Fingal Airsoft on the 28th and I think Oakridge is planing on opening on the 29th.

    Cheers,
    Bren:)

Great day today, thanks to all those freeloaders who came and took advantage of our good nature ;)

Thanks a million for the day's games, it was great to get out and see the place. I sucked royally in every single game, it was the most comprehensive off-day I've ever had, but it was good fun nonetheless. Lots of nice people knocking around too. It's great to have something like this so readily-available here.

    Thanks again folks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Thanks again for the game. Hopefully get to go again some time but it was some pain trying to organise all my friends, half of them cancelled because they were sick and I'd to leave around 9 then to go to one of their houses as it was their birthday and the others I came with had to shoot off even earlier! Was good fun anyway so thanks again :)

Thanks a lot guys, we had a great night, great craic and some really class games. Great idea splitting the games - worked out very well. Nice bunch of players too.

Thanks for that man (and for visiting), it was mad awkward running seperate games but sure you were all deadly.

We're going to do something similar soon so we'll give you a shout ;)
