    i always see or hear people on about finishing cattle,when do u know or what weight or age is a finished animal ?

    There are better than me on this site to answer that but afaik 'finished' depends on the stock and the market. Butchers heifers are finished lighter and slightly fatter than factory heifers. I wont even try to guess weights but under 500kg and over 550kg?? Steers are mostly for export and friesians finished at weights between British breeds(poly and hereford) and continental. They are mostly killed when the fat score reaches the spec for the weights ie R4l a medium confirmation animal with a good covering of fat. I hope that is some help but im sure some one will have accurate figures:o
