    Hi,

    Thanks

If looking at the A4 be extra careful on some of the secondhand ones....

Brother had similar budget & just bought an 02 A4 125k (SE Model) private in Nov....

Looked at what we taught was a pretty decent car....everything ticked....service history/NCT/Drove well/ Fresh Audi diagnostics sheet....

Only had it home a few days when it started giving bother....turns out head gasket gone but had no tell tail signs when we checked....

So do allow for 'unforseen' issues when factoring the price....And Audi know how to charge!!

Passat's seem to be reasonable...newer ones give more hassle than older ones, again depending on the exact model....

    No exp of BMW's....

Honda Accord is worth a look as well.

Also consider a rover 75 diesel auto. Your budget would get you an absolute minter from the uk.

B6 Audi A4's (01-05) are pretty nice cars to drive. Bit smaller on the inside than passats from the same years though. I'd pick a 130bhp tdi audi a4 if you can get a decent one within your budget.

Had a 04 A4 and thought it was a fantastic car.Would def recommend the 130bhp model.Traded that in for a 525d and love the beemer.inside of audi much nicer though but bmw feels much safer and performance is unreal.
