    Hi there

I went to my local SW office y'day and was told that as i was made redundant on dec 3 I am entitled to 396e to collect on monday and then 196 on wednesday.

I was then told I'd miss a payment and to collect again on the first wed in the new year. I told the woman at SW that I was going to be in the UK from dec 29 to jan 2 and she made me sign a form. I didnt think much of it at the time, but looking at the dates, what difference does it make as I wont miss a collection as I am away thursday to monday?

Can anyone enlighten me on what this all means?

    Thanks in advance

When you leave ireland you are supposed to tell the SW office even if its for a few days but if it doesnt fall on a signing date you will be fine, you get 2 weeks holiday time per year on the dole

Thank you, should I let the welfare office know that it doesn't fall on a sign on day or is there no point now?

Also, how long does the money stay at the PO? If I meant to collect on a wed, what is the latest I can collect it?

    Thanks.
