I've been given 24 hours to consider a union-negotiated redundancy package. Is that legal? Surely there's some sort of obligation on my employer to give a longer period of consideration to me.

    What does your contract say?

Lots of people just get told they're redundant, no "consideration" time involved.

Is it acceptable to you? What happens if you fail to respond within the 24 hour period?
