    Hi,
I have a new and unused front roadbike wheel for sale. I bought it recently as I was a wheel short. Never actually went out on the road with it. Nothing special but its a robust wheel that will do for the Winter commute or training.

    Quando Hub
    Black Rigida Rim
    36 Spokes
Plus I'll throw in a better and lighter Bontrager Quick Release.

    Paid e60
    Looking for e45
    Thanks.

    Bump.

I'll take e40 for the wheel. e8 cheaper than the cheapest Shimano wheel on CRC.

    Hi w123,

Thanks for offer but I'm looking for e40. Its a new wheel that hasn't been used.

I've been looking into getting a front wheel that I can use for off-roading on my CX frame. I've been thinking of a 32-spoke Mavic Open Sport rim as a decent balance between strength, weight (and price) but I could be tempted by something cheaper. It doesn't have to be very light but on the other hand I don't want something that's too heavy.

    Ant,

The wheel has a tyre and tube on it at the moment. I'd imagine the dry weight would be slightly heavier than an Aksium or Fulcrum 5 front wheel.

    Hope that helps.

Wow. That seems quite light for a 36-spoke wheel.

After repacking ball bearings in my current rear wheel late last night, my other (new) question is whether the bearings of the Quando hub are sealed or cup-and-cone as I'd prefer to spend less time on maintenance.

    Ant,

They're cup and cone that have a seal-not the cartridge type on an Aksium.

Re weight, again haven't weighed it but certaintly heavier than anything we've both mentioned but for e40....:).

I'll take it for €40. No queries about hubs.

Yeah. I knew it'd be heavier, alright. It'd be nice to have a wheel that I could subject to abuse but I wouldn't want something too heavy. Anyhow, seeing as w123 is taking it I won't be insisting that you weigh it. ;)

velo.2010 recently PMed me when he hadn't heard back from w123 and we met on Friday evening. Earlier today, I brought the wheel up the start of the Wicklow Way and back down the Three Rock MTB trail. No complaints with its performance and ability to cope with the rocks. The climbing was very tough but I put that down to lack of strength and fitness rather than the weight of the wheel. Satisfied customer.
