renew licence on ps3 network

    i went into play some older games that i paid and downloaded on the psn a good while back but now its asking me to renew the licence. does anyone know how you do this. if i go into the store it says i have to re purchase this item. is this correct.

    You only get a limited number of downloads for each system, ie if i have the game i bought on 2 ps3s that mean i used 2 out of the 5 i had, but i can delete and download to the same ps3 as many times as i like.

    It's to stop people game sharing.

    i have only the one ps3 and never signed in under anyone else. the licences just vanished from the games i purchased.

    Your PS3 could have become de-activated from its PSN account.
    You can check this in Account Management under the Network tab.

    i doubt it cos it signed me into the PSN no problem and i was playing games online too. i will check the tab. looks like i have to contact sony

    the activation is for DLC.
    So that can become deactivated until you activate it again. It won't prevent online play from bluray games.

    If you or someone else has never downloaded on another PS3 this is the most likely thing.
    Otherwise you will need to contact Sony.
    Hope you kept your purchase emails.
