The Woolshed baa on parnell st will be showing the superbowl live inc the build up. Not really a party as such but they will have the odd drink and food deal. it doesnt close until the game is over but i think the bar itself stops serving alcohol at a certain time due to license restrictions. i have went the last two years its being brilliant. But go early as seats get taken really fast and you will end up sitting in front of a small tv prob.so plan ahead as well with the soccer in the english premiership and spanish league as there fans will be there too.

    BUMP
Has anybody heard about anywhere showing it for definite.
Dandelion would be handier for me with the Luas stopping outside.

    Hi,
The Dublin Rebels' Superbowl Party will indeed be on in Dandelion again this year. The plan is to pull out all the stops again... except bigger and better! We're looking into options for creating the best possible viewing experience (can't say any more at the moment), but no matter what happens it should be awesome. We'll have cheerleaders, dancers, box-betting and probably some sort of drinks promotion (don't quote me on that). Last year was great craic.

As with last year, anyone from boards.ie who wants to attend can send me a PM with their name, email address and mobile number. I'll arrange to get them on the guestlist. Closing date for requesting a spot on the guestlist is Sunday, Jan 29th... or when the guestlist fills up - whichever comes first.

If you want to bring a guest, send me their name, email and mobile number too. Large groups should email andrew@dublinrebels.com (that's our GM Andrew Flynn, not me!).

As places are limited, admission is ONLY available to people on the guestlist. You can't just mosey in on the night, unfortunately.

Please note - this is strictly an over 21s event and ROAR applies at all times.

    PM me if you're interested.
    Regards,
    Andy Dennehy

Right - regarding that 'creating the best possible viewing experience' comment above... we were hoping to show the Superbowl in 3D but it looks like they're not broadcasting in 3D, unfortunately. However, the backup plan is to get Full HD on all screens, including the big screen, which should be pretty sweet.

    Lothaar,

It wont let me PM you as I havent enough posts...
Should i send an email to Andrew instead to book my spot?

    Thanks

I was at the one in Dandelions last year thanks to Andy giving us a chance to get on the guest list through here. And i must say it was a great night. A lot better than any of the other superbowl nights i had been out for before in Dublin. Looking forward to this years one.

You can if you want to sit in the stand type things they have in front of the tv's so you can be guaranteed a good view. Think they are 7.50. But if you just wanna turn up early and stand you won't have to book or pay for anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Yeah never paid before to get in there, don't think I'll be starting now.

As far as I'm aware Dandelion is always 21's on paper. If you've ever been there before and are 18/19/20 I'm sure you'd have a realistic chance of getting in. The 21's thing strikes me as ridiculous in general (I mean if you're a respectable enough lad and you're not bringing a group of 20 18 year olds then It should always be down to the bouncers disgression), but in particular for an event like this. Only American Football fans are going to attend. It's not one for a group of hormonal muppets!. (before anyone has anything to say, Yes I am under 21 myself but I would actually be interested in hearing peoples opinions on this.

So this will be all you can eat and drink for 50 euros for the entire duration of the game. Here is the link to the facebook event page.
    http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=126594694075125

So I can order as much drink as I want at one time and at last orders I can order enough to finish the game?

Captain Americas in Cork did one last year so the Captain Americas in Dublin might be worth a shot.

Woolshed on Paranell Street is good craic. Only the bucket seats cost money. Does get awfully packed but there's plenty of screens good food and cheap fosters!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭Royal Seahawk

No you can order drinks the entire time you are there. You are buying a ticket to a private party and it is all inclusive.

At what time does the 50euro unlimited bar start and close at?

I'm getting through the PMs right now. Sorry again for the delay.

If you PMd me, you're on the list. I'll respond to each PM individually too.

Anyone else looking to go has until the end of this week to submit their details.

    Cheers,

Tried your bar for the play offs, €5.90 for a pint of Cider & €6 for a west coast cooler for herself ? It's hard enough trying to get out to watch the games. Atmosphere wasn't great either, you didn't have any sound on for the match. Do like the set up you have down stairs though. That doesn't justify those sort of drinks prices.

Thanks to everyone who PMd me. You're all on the guestlist.

I'm not taking any more guestlist requests from Boards.ie, as we need to finalise everything today. (I did say I'd close it down at the end of last week, so I've already extended it for my Boards.ie football brethren!)

To answer an earlier question - yes, jerseys are allowed... nay, encouraged!

On behalf of the Dublin Rebels, I hope you all have a great night!

So are boardsies going to wear their jerseys to the Dandelion party? We were hoping the Pats would be there and we could wear our jerseys (don't get much opportunity to wear them here!). Or would we look sad wearing the jersey of a team who aren't even there?

Would be good fun if everyone wore the jerseys of their team, like at the NFL game in Wembley. Yes, I know I'm being such a girl about it :D

Nah, wear the jersey of whoever you support, add a bit more colour to the evening..
