I'm 23 between 5'5 and 5'7 I don't know my height thats just a rough guess I'll find out my height asap as I'm told its important to know your height to aim for your correct weight, I weigh 14 stone. I played football untill I was 18 then stopped all together and gained the weight now I joined a football team and am trying to get back into shape to play again, I was hoping to get some tips on diet and hopefully the best and quickest way to help me reach my goal

Just like everyone else gets asked...what is your daily food and drink intake?

Losing weight is primarily about getting the basics right - consistently. Consistently as in making it your lifestyle, not as some punishment, test of willpower or, God forbid - diet.

Cutting out junk food is obviously a no-brainer, reducing carbs, doing exercise you enjoy = losing the lard.

I have one cup of coffee in the mornings then all I drink is water, I have cereal for breakfast, sometimes I'll have a sandwich during the day most days i do eat crap bars, crisps etc. pizza, chipper, or curry for dinner more often than I'd like to (or can afford) recently I have cut out bars and crisps and have stopped getting dinner delivered so much

Basically, the coffee and water is ok, but everythng you are eating is bad.

Starting proper healthy food, more meat and protein, more green veg,
less bread, less burgers and chips, less greesey currys etc.

    You are back playn footy.

Whatever you do, do not reduce your carbs!! Footballers need more carbs than the normal person, you need it to fuel your training and your matches.

If you wanna lose weight just eat less calories than you need every day, 300 less cals is plenty for your sport.

Put 110% into each training session and you will gain stamina and fat loss.

Give it 5-6 weeks and you should be on your way to seeing some fitness returning........ but it takes a few months to get back to were you were.

you cleary havn't read / taken in the content of the stickies.. when did you eat your last bar / pack of crisps? cereal / sandwich could be anything but at a guess id say not good! read the nutrition stickies, more protein and less crap and do some intense cardio and weights and keep up the footie training

Interesting subject. A google search has this as the top result - and seems to speak sense on the subject :
