Virtual Media Centres (VMWare)

Since ESXi4.1 now supports USB passthrough has anyone had any luck in running USB TV tuners in VMWare?

My aim would be to run a media centre backend (Myth or Windows 7) on a virtual machine and use WDTV Live to view the recorded content.

    Have you tried this yet?

At one stage I was considering doing this with wither Sage TV or Windows 7but ultimately I had to consolidate my boxes so I've chosen to go with Windows 7 running natively on a quad which doubles as my desktop PC.

Just to add that this works. There seems no problem with the DVB-T usb stick running through VMWare ESXi4.1. Runs into a VM running MythTV backend on Ubuntu. Next problem is to sort the hopeless TV reception and the path down to the WDTV Live in the living room which runs over the equally hopeless homeplug network.
