Setting Up on Xmas Eve for mo Mham?

So, my Mam and I are being

for each other. Whatever adult lived in the house used to do it for my Mam, but I've been doing it for the past few years, as it is just us now.
For the first year we were actually staying over in my aunties house, so I bought everything and she set the presents up for me that night. Last year I bought my Mam something and wrapped it up and gave her anything else from myself, except I got her a stocking again [but left it at the end of her bed]. Now, this year we're stuck. I've gotten her some more presents again, but from Santa, and I want to set them up the way that she sets them up for me [like Santy does].
Santa always leaves the presents in the sitting room. But no matter who sets it up first, someone is going to see their Christmas presents before they're meant to like.
So anyone got any ideas of what we could do? I was thinking that one person could stand in front of the display they set up with a blanket or something so you can't see it? Or we could get a windbreaker, but my Mam thought that was unrealistic..? :L
I also said that we could throw a blanket over it? But my Mam said she doesn't really have anything to throw it over, so no? :L
How could we set up each others presents without seeing what we'll be getting in the morning?
Actually dying for her to see what she got. Used the most part of my junior and birthday money for this stuff [I bought a CD with my birthday money too , and a Childline ticket with the Junior money ]. So exciteddd. I'm getting the rest of my school trip paid for by Santa. Don't know what to expect on the morning.

Maybe put a chair in the corner and hide her presents behind it and make her promise not to look when she's putting yours in?

Or... Get a fairly big box and put all her presents in it, and wrap it as though it were a huge present then she has no way of peeking

Yeah a large cardboard box sounds like a good idea, & seal it with tape, and all her wrapped presents would be in there?

Or if ye have a spare bed sheet, that could be thrown over someones pile of presents?
