Mania Rematch galore!

Its something that has been discussed a bit in other threads, so it might as wll it gets its own one.

Right now if I was to predict the main events of Mania I reckon its a safe bet that we will get Kane v Taker again for starters. This is something nobody should look forward to as not only will Taker be in poor condition its a match that we have seen quite a bit in the last decade, especially in the last few months!

What makes this possible main event more rubbish is, we know that these two won't put on a good match. Kane is limited and Taker is falling apart. He steps it up when it comes to Mania but Kane is not on the level of a HBK, Edge or even Orton and Batista a much maligned performer who upped his performance on big occasions.

    Rematch 2!

    Orton v Cena!

Back in 2008 this would have been a perfectly acceptable Mania main event. In the previous year Orton in storyline had not only injured Cena but had taken his title. He had been built up well with victories over HBK and Jeff and the story of the returning babyface winning the Rumble and getting his revenge at Mania on the man who had destroyed him would have a storyline that I would have cool with. Its a simple storyline but wrestling should never be complicated.

But they blew that because they wouldn't dare leave Hunter out of a title match when Mania comes around and what we got was a watered down triple threat. Since then they have wrestled 345 times in total. The matches are actually pretty good for the most part as they have chemistry but I would find it really lazy if thats what headlined Mania. Maybe in a few years if they can keep them apart I would be ok with it.

However I have a horrid feeling thats where they will go this year.

That and possibly a Hunter v Sheamus rematch:confused:

I have rambled a bit to much but would anyone be happy with those as Mania main events?

Taker vs Kane at Mania would be awful. I'd be surprised if they kept it going that long. I'd be fine with Cena vs Orton at Mania in a babyface vs babyface match as the crowd reactions would make it interesting. I can't see that happening though as I suspect Cena vs Barrett could be on the agenda. Sheamus facing Hunter would please me for two reasons. Firstly, I'd be surprised if Hunter beat him two years in a row. Secondly, Hunter would be out of the title picture which is always good.

If i saw those 3 matches at Mania i probably wouldn't buy it - and i always buy it!

    Just totally, totally uninspiring matches.

Who chose 'Just Taker vs Kane'?!!?

I'd only like to see Orton v Cena if Cena was heel. Not gonna happen though.

If WWE do Orton vs Cena or Taker vs Kane @ Mania, I'm not watching it. I'm undecided whether to boycott HHH vs Sheamus too, since we have only seen it a few times.

At this rate, I'm not paying for Mania. But I will watch it later in the week. If it deserves my patronage it'll get it, but it's looking bleak.

Guilty! I quite enjoyed their Buried Alive and HIAC matches, and it's doubtful they are going to get Sting or Brock Lesnar. And Cena should be saved for match #20.

Now that I think about it, I would prefer to see Taker V Nexus, but I think at one point that Undertaker will get his final re-match/revenge against Kane.

I would also be cool with HHH/Sheamus. Would be interesting though if Sheamus is the babyface and HHH is the heel.

lol, Undertaker Vs Kane 3? It'll either have Kane finally beating Undertaker, and beating the legendary winning streak that guys like Shawn Micheals and Randy Orton failed to do. Or Undertaker once agian beating Kane, and just burying Kane altogether once more. Not too keen on this tbh.

Wow Charisteas, you'd be cool with seeing Kane vs Taker for a third time at Mania? waaah! :P

The only I i expect is Sheamus vs HHH again. I'd imagine Taker will have an interpromotional match vs Wade Barett w/Nexus as the added Nexus involvement would make him losing his streak feasible for casual fans and as it would keep Barett & Nexus in focus with such a big match/feud plus it would also be logical after the part they played in Takers exit. Taker to get fed Kane before that hopefully but with elimination chamber the PPV before mania they would need Taker back for The Rumble to get proper closure on that feud imo.

not sure what they will do with Orton tbh but I do remember talk of Cena vs The Miz being proposed as a Wrestlemania match which could make sense especially now that The Miz is now Raw's champ.

Sheamus vs HHH again at mania wouldent be that bad tbh as it was shortly after their first mania match that Sheamus "put HHH out" and his return is yet to happen so you would imagine it would happen at a time when the build would lead to a logical conclusion at a WM rematch, that is if they can hold it off till then. HHH is fit to go atm and if Morrison vs Miz happens at the Rumble Sheamus will be left minus an opponent that is unless the returning King of Kings is the reason Sheamus lost no.1 contendership to JoMo and is instead his Rumble opponent. Even then though they would be more likely to be in the rumble match and chamber match before finally ending it in the 1on1 Mania match.

    Just Taker v Kane
New Wrestlemania tagline- Where we run out of fresh ideas. Again.

Cena v Orton wouldn't be the worst that could happen. I mean it may be pretty done to death, but at least they can still wrestle. Kane v Taker is just a big no. I'm a huge Kane fan, but I don't want to see him get buried a 3rd time at Wrestlemania. (I mean seriously, how could they make us believe that Kane is going to beat Taker at it now). Sheamus and HHH, again not the worst match possible, but like Orton v Cena - done to death.
