    Hi All,

Sorry if this is deuplicate post but could find an answer to my question.

Basically, for how long would/can an employer keep your employment record on file? I'm talking performance reviews, attendance records, discipline records, Personal details, etc.

Basically, I need a reference from an old employer but most of my Managers/supervisors (outside of senior managers who didn't really know me) are gonzo from there. Company say they don't any details about me other than my start and finish dates.

Ok, just wondered if it was a company I worked for. Anyway my experience was same as you but I was able to contact someone who knew me and they provided a verbal reference.

Search for your managers or supervisors on linkedin or facebook and ask for their personal contact number & see if they will give you a reference.

"other than my start and finish dates."

That is because in reality all they have to provide is a letter confirming that you worked for them between this and that time in the capacity of.
