Strange issue with gas heating

I have a strange issue with the gas boiler (its a voykera mynute).

In summer when the rads zone is switched off it works just fine heating the water.

However, in winter when rads and water zones are on, the boiler stops about an hour after the timer tells it to come on. Its a basic system, there are no room thermostats, just the adjustable dial on the boiler itself. The temp on this dial is set fairly high so I don't think its stopping cos it thinks the desired temp has been reached.

There is a switch on the wall which supplies the electricity to the gas boiler. If I turn that off and on again I can hear one of the motorised valves moving in the hot press. The boiler then comes on again and will then stay on for as long as required that evening.

Next day exact same thing happens.

What could be the problem ?

What dictates whether the the motorised valves open or close?

There is a wall switch in the hot press that turns the motorised valve for the rads zone on/off (only use that in summer). The other motorised valve seems to connect to the cylinder thermostat (to allow the cylinder heat to specified temp).

I thought that the only thing that would stop the boiler working is the water temp reaching the level selected on the boiler's own thermostat (I have no room thermostats or TRVs remember)

Is is possible at all that having the cylinder thermostat at the wrong temp could cause the boiler to stop heating water for the rads ? (I thought that the way things worked was that the cylinder thermostat governed the motorised valve to stop the cylinder water heating)

I thing the cylinder thermostat was set to wrong temp and I it to 60c last night. Today the boiler seems to be running OK.

Does the above make sense to anyone ? Is is possible that a cylinder thermostat at the wrong temp can mess up the central heating like this ?
