I applied for Disability Allowance in June, still waiting for a decision(Severe Depression/Anxiety due to working conditions.....At this time i would like to start slowly getting back to the workforce, to see if im capable managing..

I think a good start for me would be perhaps volunteering?! To see how i manage..Homeless Shelter? etc Can someone point me where i can see where volunteers are needed, without jeopardizing my CWO payment/decision for DA?

There was some talk i believe couple months ago suggesting people could work to "earn" their dole..Thanks

Not trying to be smart or anything, but if you were suffering from depression I dont think working with the homeless would really be good for you. Its tough going.
As per your claim, Id imagine there is a massive backlog of applicants across the board right now. I know some people are still waiting to hear back on their Back to Education, since June! Its a farce. But the whole country is on its head right now.
What were you doing before that caused the stress? Was it the work or the environment? Maybe you could try bar work, or waiting on tables somewhere? Even those jobs are hard to come by mind you.
Good luck whatever you decide and mind yourself. Sounds like you've had a tough year.

You can typically volunteer for a small number of hours a week without affecting your benefits. You should discuss this with the welfare officer and always get written permission.

You should also call into fas, who arrange community employment schemes for people on disability or long term unemployment who want to return to work. Many of these schemes are part-time hours and allow you to continue to claim part of your benefits.
